2400 Series Vacuum Receivers Unveiled at K-Show

SALINA, KANSAS, USA--- (September 26, 2007) - The K-Tron Process Group will introduce Premier Pneumatics brand vacuum receivers to the European market for the first time in Booth A74, Hall 10, at the K-Show in Düsseldorf, Germany, October 24-31, 2007.

K-Tron will show the Premier Brand 2420 powder and 2415 stainless steel powder & pellet receivers. The 2400 Series vacuum receivers also include several additional models designed to handle materials from free-flowing pellets to difficult-to-discharge fine powders serving many needs in the plastics, chemical, and food industries.

The 2420 Powder Receiver has been specifically designed to provide high-efficiency material separation when handling fine powders as well as regrind, granular materials and even pellets. This receiver features a low overall height by incorporating a cyclonic primary separator coupled with an internal cartridge secondary separator with automatic air pulse cleaning.  A 76.2 mm [3 in] tangential material inlet tube provides gentle material entry to reduce degradation of the conveyed product, which includes an internal check-valve that allows the receiver to be used in vacuum sequencing systems with multiple receivers. Materials of construction include carbon steel with epoxy coated interior and enamel painted exterior or with stainless steel material contact. Custom material combinations can be provided.

The 2420 comes with easy access band clamps providing tool-less entry into the interior of the receiver for cleaning and filter maintenance. Standard features include 60° sloped hopper to promote material discharge, 152.4 mm [6 in] gravity discharge gate, full support discharge flange for mounting, integral proximity switch detects discharge gate position, automatically calling for material whenever the hopper is not full and controls suitable for use with either solid state microprocessor controller or a programmable logic controller.

The 2415 vacuum receivers is designed to handle powder, pellet, regrind, or granular materials. The modular designed receiver allows flexibility in the selection of material construction, power, filtration, and receiver inlet sections to meet your current application requirements as well as your future needs.  Each section of the receiver is attached by quick-connect clamps to facilitate filter maintenance and receiver cleaning. The receiver is available in either aluminum or stainless steel construction.  Components of different construction are interchangeable allowing receivers to be specified with stainless steel material contact areas only. The 2415 central system unit utilizes a common vacuum blower package, and is primarily used on multiple destination applications where larger conveying rates or long distances are required. Filtration choices are available to meet specific application needs based on the characteristics of the material to be conveyed. Each receiver is equipped with a heavy-duty, cast discharge spout and one-piece stainless steel gate. A rubber seal is positioned on the spout and makes a positive seal with the gate during the draw cycle. The receiver includes an inductive proximity switch level-sensing system.  The proximity switch is located in the discharge flange and requires no wires in the product zone. The current position of the discharge gate is identified by the proximity switch and is signaled to the controller for another call for material if the gate is in the closed position.

Receivers are available with controls suitable for use with either a solid state microprocessor controller or a programmable logic controller.  Both control systems utilize 24 VDC low voltage and are available with installation kits making installation easy and more economical. The receiver controls include color coded quick connectors and provide communication to the central controller.

Since the October 2006 acquisition of Premier Pneumatics of Salina, Kansas, K-Tron has opted to use the Premier Pneumatics brand name for all of its pneumatic conveying lines. Along with Premier Series 2400 receivers, K-Tron will also introduce to the European market, the Premier Aerolock™ rotary valves at the K-Show. The Premier model P10 and P30 vacuum receivers (formerly sold under the PCS brand name) will be also displayed. The P-Series receivers are designed to convey delicate materials and free flowing to poorly flowing powders.
